Based out of the south Kansas City area, his love for the outdoors started with family camping trips and fishing Missouri's lakes, and at the age of 5, started tagging along with his dad to the deer stand on their family farm. His thirst for knowledge and a strong work ethic has taken him through years on a cattle farm and crop fields all while earning a degree in Wildlife Biology from Missouri State University. That knowledge and the mindset of working hard was incorporated into his late Grandpa's farm working CRP fields, and is now used for managing the deer herd, food plots, and timber stands on his own hunting properties. In more recent years, Mat has also taken on the trade-job lifestyle, specializing in managing upscale fencing projects in places like Mission Hills, Kansas and other high end neighborhoods around the Kansas City area, as well as producing an award winning waterfowl hunting TV show that has been nationally aired for more than a decade.
